Actress Ruby Rose once suffered chemical burns when she tried to dye her dark hair on a whim.
The Australian model and actress always makes a statement on the red carpet with her bold hair and make-up choices, and made headlines back in 2015 when she rocked a short style with heavy fringe to a number of events.
Though the look drew comparisons to the style worn by Jim Carrey in the 1994 film Dumb & Dumber, Ruby really liked how she looked with the haircut.
“Everybody hated it! I loved it! I loved it even more when people hated it,” she told Elle.com. “That was also pre-me even knowing how to do my own make-up.”
Of late, the 31-year-old has been sporting many sleek gowns and pantsuits to film premieres, such as the light gold Julien Macdonald number she wore at the Los Angeles premiere of xXx: Return of Xander Cage in January. Ruby chose to have her black tresses styled in a chic crop, and wore a swipe of pewter coloured lipstick on her pout.
“I love this look. It was daring and I was a little bit frightened, but I have an amazing make-up artist and hair team. I remember being like, ‘I don’t know if I can get away with this,’ and with the lip being such a bold statement and the eye being so understated,” she shared.
The Orange Is the New Black star isn’t afraid to veer away from her signature black hair colour, and has previously tried out orange, pink and green streaks. But the star does regret dying her dark hair bright blonde on a whim back in 2009.
