Robert Pattinson models Dior Homme Campaign

was enthusiastic when invited to model Dior Homme’s apparel, according to the chief executive officer of Christian Dior Couture Sidney Toledano.

Robert Pattinson smoulders in a new black and white campaign for Dior Homme, which was shot by Karl Lagerfeld.

The Twilight actor was announced as the face of the fashion house’s male fragrances in late 2013 and has set hearts racing with his various advertisements ever since. For the latest project, Robert instead models the brand’s apparel from its pre-fall collection.

He looks dapper in ensembles such as a checked shirt and shiny dark trousers, while in another shot he glares at the camera in a dark parka coat over a white shirt and tie.

“We approached Robert Pattinson for the Dior Homme autumn 2016 campaign,” Sidney Toledano, chief executive officer of Christian Dior Couture, told WWD. “He was already the face of the Dior Homme Fragrance and he was thrilled to be also the face for fashion. When we told him that Karl Lagerfeld was going to shoot the campaign, Robert was even more enthusiastic and indeed, the campaign is perfectly reflecting the spirit of Dior Homme.”

The advertisements will be released on 1 April (16) and mark the first time the fashion house is doing a print campaign for a pre-collection. It follows on from Dior Homme’s Spring 16 ads, which featured four male creatives: singer/songwriter Oliver Sim of The xx, French actor Alain-Fabien Delon, model Victor Nylander and artist Rinus Van de Velde. Kris Van Assche, who has helmed the house since 2007, chose lens expert Willy Vanderperre to work on the venture.

“In this season’s campaign, the Dior man metamorphoses into Dior men – charismatic and distinctly individual, they playfully subvert the rules of masculine dress while at the same time upholding its traditions,” Kris explained to WWD.

“(The men were chosen because) each character embraces qualities they are known for in their actual lives. We feel (they) embody something of the spirit of Dior Homme today. We wanted to create the idea of a Dior Homme world that has a dialogue with these men.”
