Caitlyn Jenner has responded to Ricky Gervais’ Golden Globes dig, saying she is hoping to host the show next year so she can get revenge.
The British comedian caused controversy when he said that Caitlyn, who was formerly Bruce Jenner before undergoing gender reassignment surgery, ”didn’t do a lot for women drivers”.
The joke was a reference to the crash Caitlyn was involved in in February 2015 that claimed the life of a woman.
But asked about Ricky’s comments during a chat as part of the Television Critics Tour in Pasadena, California, on Thursday (14.01.16), Caitlyn admitted she has already planned how to exact her revenge.
She said: ”On Ricky, I think what I’m gonna do call the Golden Globes and see if they need a new host for next year. And we’ll solve that problem.”
After Ricky’s joke at the awards last Sunday (10.01.16), the comedian was quickly lambasted by fans on Twitter.
But he responded: ”Suggesting a joke about Caitlin [sic] Jenner is automatically transphobic is like suggesting a joke about Bill Cosby is automatically racist.”
Caitlyn was speaking to reporters as she promoted the second season of her E! reality show ‘I Am Cait’.
She explained: ”I’m only a spokesman for me and my story. I have so much to learn in this community.”
”I am sure we all love good clothes, all that kind of stuff. I really want the people to get to know all of my friends. This is a different show. This is about a serious issue.”
‘I Am Cait’ season two premieres on March 6.
