The Kokoda Track is a tourist destination in Papau New Guinea and is referred to as a life-changing experience.
The former Miss Universe finalist, and former Miss World Australia and brand ambassador completed the arduous 96km trek in just five days.
Videos of Erin and Laura’s adventure go live on the Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority’s new “Do Kokoda” website on Thursday.
This is part of a campaign to encourage more people, in particular women, to attempt the trek.
“It is an incredible experience and probably one of the most amazing things I’ve done in my life,” Laura told Confidential.
“We didn’t look glamorous at all. It is pretty intense trekking, we were doing about 4km to an hour which is pretty full-on”.
“There was a little bit of whingeing here and there but we coped pretty well.”
The Kokoda Track, where Australians famously fought the Japanese in WWII, generally takes between four and 12 days to walk, with the fastest recorded time of 16 hours and 34 minutes.
