Twilight star, Robert Pattinson, is making his way to Australia for the film festival to launch his brand new movie ‘The Rover’.
The 27-year-old will be joined by his famous co-star Guy Pearce and director, David Michod at the red carpet premiere of their movie.
The Australian debut will be at the State Theatre in Sydney on June 7th and is in the competition at the prestigious festival.
It was officially announced today by NSW Arts Minister Troy Grant as the 61st Sydney Film Festival will run from June 4 to 15. It will have s line-up featuring 183 titles from 47 countries, including 15 world premieres.
‘I couldn’t really explain to you what it’s about but it’s sort of about how much pain can the world take and how much disgust and cruelty before love dies.’ He told Indiewire.
‘The Rover’ was announced as one of 12 film in competition at the Australian film festival, which launched its full program on Tuesday and kicks off from Friday, June 4.
Australian film director Rachel Perkins has been named as president of the Official Competition jury, which will judge the 12 selected films competing for the Sydney Film Prize this June.
