56th TV Week Logie Awards 2014: A Complete Look

Logie Awards 2014 A Complete Look
Last night was the biggest night in Australian television with the 2014 TV Week kicking off last night!

Some of our favorite Aussie stars hit the red carpet this year including: Scott Tweedie, Lincoln Lewis, Paula Abdul, Isabelle Cornish, Kate Peck, Jennifer Hawkins, Laura Dundovic, Kris Smith, Shane Warne, Jesinta Campbell,  and .

The evening kicked off with a performance from Jason Derulo, who performed a medley of his hits ‘Trumpets’, ‘In My Head’, and ‘Talk Dirty’.

The entertainment for the night included huge Aussie talent and global guest including: Kylie Minogue and Tina Arena. They were joined by internal guests: British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, John Neman, and American duo MKTO.

Tina Arena’s performance for the In Memoriam section honored many Australian talents, including Charlotte Dawson, who was missed by many in attendance at the Logies.  She performed ‘Only Lonely’ on piano.

One of our favorite moments was Lincoln Lewis instagram post of a ‘Ellen selfie’ featuring Kylie Minogue, Hamish and Andy and more aussie talent!

A shocking moment that has everyone talking was Housos taking home the Logie Award for most outstanding light entertainment program with Paul Fenech accepting the award. He outrageously spoke: “The wankers and the rich people and the clowns who run everything, they didn’t win … the real Aussies won something.”

However, our favorite speech had to be by ‘’ actress, Bonnie Steven, who won the ‘Most Popular New Talent’. The 24-year-old gave a very inspiring acceptance speech: “I think it says something really progressive about Australia and about the commercial industry that viewers have so warmly embraced such a natural and healthy, young woman on their screens. Go Tassie!”

This iconic night ended with Kylie Minogue presenting the Gold Logie for ‘Most Popular Personality on TV. This award went to ‘The Block’ presenter Scott Cam that was a surprise to the winner himself.
